VITEEE 2020

VITEEE is an entrance exam of one of the best private institute of India. Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is one of the most popular choices among the engineering students, and thus VITEEE witnesses around 4 lakh registrations each year. The exam is held once a year for B.Tech admissions in VIT. Check below the important dates of VITEEE 2020:

What are the requirements to complete the application ?

  • Valid e-mail address and active mobile number.
  • Valid Net Banking Account/ Credit/ Debit Card or Paytm Account.
  • Scanned files (.jpg format) of your photo (3.5 cm width x 4.5 cm height; 10-200 kB size) and signature (3.5 cm width x 1.5 cm height; 10-200 kB size)

Stage 1: New User Registration

  • Enter all the relevant details carefully.
  • OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number (Indians) for verification.
  • Once OTP is validated, a password will be sent to the registered e-mail address.
  • All VITEEE communications will be sent to the registered e-mail address and mobile number. Request for change of registered mobile number / e-mail address / corresponding address will not be entertained under any circumstances.

Stage 2: Sign In for Registered Users

  • Login with the registered e-mail address and password received from VIT.

Stage 3: Filling Online Application form

  • Fill in the relevant fields cautiously.
  • Submit the application to generate application number.
  • Refer the generated application number in future correspondences.

Stage 4: Mode of Payment

  • The cost of the online application is Rs.1,150 when paid through web browser, but when paid through VITEEE App, the cost of the application is Rs.1,050 only.
  • Applicants opting test centres located in foreign countries must pay 50 USD (excluding bank charges).

Stage 5: Photo & Signature Upload

  • After payment, the softcopy of your photo and signature should be uploaded.
  • Photograph Image : Size should be between 10 kB and 200 kB with the dimension of 3.5 CM X 4.5 CM.
  • Signature Image : Size should be between 10 kB and 200 kB with the dimension of 3.5 CM X 1.5 CM.
  • Selfie is not allowed.

Stage 6: Download Filled-in Online Application

  • Download the soft copy of the filled-in online application for further reference.
  • PLEASE DO NOT SEND HARDCOPY of the filled-in online application to VIT.

Stage 7: Payment Transaction Queries

  • At the time of transaction, if the amount is debited, kindly wait for 48 hours to confirm the payment.
  • Please do not try to apply for the second time.

Payment failures

  • If the amount is debited from your account, but payment is not confirmed within 48 hours, the amount will be automatically refunded to your account.
  • Try for the payment again using the same registered e-mail address.

  • Closing date of Online Application : Saturday, 29th February, 2020
  • Last date to Edit Online Application : Saturday, 29th February, 2020
  • Slot Booking : Third week of March, 2020 (Tentative)
  • Examinations : Second to Third week of April, 2020 (Tentative)
  • Counselling Dates : Second or Third week of May, 2020(Tentative)
  • Commencement of Classes : Second week of July, 2020 (Tentative)

List of programmes

  • VITEEE is a common entrance exam for VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, VIT-AP and VIT- Bhopal. The exam tests Maths/Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English & Aptitude. The test consists of 125 multiple choice questions to be answered in two and half hours. Selection is based on the ranks through offline counselling process at VIT Campuses. Eligible candidates may select specific Programme / Campus during counselling. Details are given in specific menus displayed under.

Eligibility Norms

Nationality:The applicant for admission should be a Resident / Non Resident Indian National / PIO.Foreign Candidates studied/studying abroad can apply directly through foreign category only. A separate application form is made available. Kindly check our website for details
Age Limit :Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1998 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2020. The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic. Candidates should produce this certificate in original as a proof of their age at the time of counselling, failing for which they will be disqualified.
Qualifying Examination:Candidates appearing for the VITEEE-2020 should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2020, in any one of the following qualifying examinations :The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi.Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.As per VIT Norms, Regular ‘NIOS’ board candidates are also eligible for VITEEE. They should produce the Migration Cum Transfer Certificate at the time of joining.
Eligibility Criteria For The Qualifying Examination: Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2020 should have secured minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be minimum aggregate of 50% for the following categories:
Candidates belonging to SC/STCandidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
CERTIFICATE TO PROVE COMMUNITY / NATIVITY should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
Subject Eligibility:Candidates who have opted for MPCEA(Maths / Physics/ Chemistry / English / Aptitude)in VITEEE 2020 are eligible for all the B.Tech. Programmes.Candidates who have opted for BPCEA(Biology / Physics/ Chemistry / English / Aptitude)in VITEEE 2020 are eligible for the following Bio stream programmes only. But after joining, registering Mathematics as bridge course is mandatory.

On comparing with the older exam pattern the below-given conclusions can be made:

  • A new section is added that is aptitude section with 10 questions
  • The number of questions in Chemistry and Physics sections reduced by 5 questions in each.
  • The total number of questions and the total duration of the exam is same.
  • The marking scheme is also the same i.e 1 marks for correct answers and no negative marking.

VITEEE 2020 Preparation Tips
