If early signs are anything to go by, MS Dhoni is looking set for another productive season in the Indian Premier League. The Chennai Super Kings captain was seen striking the ball cleanly during his first practice session for CSK on Saturday in the lead up to IPL 2019 starting March 23.
MS Dhoni arrived in Chennai on Friday and got down to business along with his teammates at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Dhoni padded up and blasted a few into the empty stands, which are expected to be filled by a sea of yellow during the IPL 2019 opener against Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore.
In a video clip uploaded by CSK’s social media handles, Dhoni can be spotted stepping down the track and hitting a few big ones during the practice session. The India wicketkeeper-batsman was timing the ball well, much to delight of CSK fans.
Dhoni had trained alongside senior CSK teammates, Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu. The CSK captain was also spotted having discussions with head coach Stephen Fleming, who had arrived in Chennai on Friday. Dhoni also found time to give some bowling tips to pacer Mohit Sharma on Saturday. Notably, Fleming and batting coach Michael Hussey were overseeing the training session.
